I love romance. Any book which has romance in it I probably have read it already or would be reading it. I love to make friends with fellow book bloggers so hit me up!

I have never read any book by Lori Foster before so this was a great introduction to her although this was the second book to the series it was a standalone so it wasn't hard for me to understand the plot. Although there were references about previous characters throughout the book, it was mentioned in a way that you would still get a grasp of what happened.
So if you feel that you liked this book but don't one to read the previous one then you wouldn't have a hard time understanding the plot. Although I do advise you to read the previous book first because it would be better.
The story revolves around Denver Lewis an up-and-coming MMA Fighter. He has lusted for Cherry Peyton for so long but due to her flirty nature he feels that she's not someone who wold be able to commit to him.
Denver Lewis was an alpha male that was so hot I always anticipated his POV. He was never trying to be deliberately alpha, but when his protective instincts come barging in, he can't help but protect what he feels is his.
Which I cannot really help but like because although I feel women should be independent and take hold of her own life, sometimes we just need someone to lean on to when the going gets tough.
Cherry Peyton is a sweet woman who has a not-so sweet past that comes back to bite her. She's very independent and that is one of the reason she ends up having an argument with Denver. But I'm not complaining since it mostly ends up with them having hot and passionate make-up sex.
One thing that I am not sure if I liked or disliked was the many point of views from side characters in the book. I liked it because I could be able to get a glimpse of the next couples that would be featured on the upcoming books but on the other hand I disliked it because I just want to read more about Cherry and Denver not about the whole gang!
Overall Holding Strong really made me appreciate how Lori Foster writes and I'll be surely reading more books from her.

Addy and the Smart Guy by Carter Ashby
Cover: 3
Plot: 5
Characters: 5
Overall Rating: 5
Addy and the Smart Guy was a very amazing read! Addy has been in love with her Proffessor Dr. McDaniels for three years already and she never really expected anything to come out from her feelings but when spring break approaches she was surprised anddelighted that Grey wanted to spend a week with her ALONE
They spent a week trying to do everything so after that they would be able to get back to their normal lives but you know how these things end up.
If you have been reading my reviews for a while now then you would realize that I adore teacher-student romances the thought of the forbidden is really intriguing. I even have a shelf dedicated for these kind of books. What I liked about this book was that it was forbidden but not to the point that it would turn out to be really gross.
What really surprised me about this book is how hot it was!
Because if you base it all on the cover it would really remind you of a wholesome YA book that would be filled with some stolen kisses here and there but this book was not it. I would even call this a book bordering on erotica. Not that I mind it, but it was just really surprising since again the cover was very wholesome and all. I guess the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" is really applicable in this case.
Overall, this was my favorite book in this trilogy and kudos to Carter Ashby for being able to make this into a very worthwhile read.

New York’s Finest February 14, 2015 LADIES AND GENTS! I have an announcement! You know that guy I featured on my blog a few months ago? The really, really hot Irish rugby player who plays the position of ‘hooker’ in the RLI (Rugby League International)? The one with the questionable fashion choices leading me to ask whether he was the lovechild of a leprechaun and a hobbit? The one with the anger management issues and the body of a gladiator and the face of a movie star? Ronan Fitzpatrick? Yeah, that guy.Well, I have a confession to make… THE HERMIT Annie Catrel, social media expert extraordinaire at Davidson & Croft Media and clandestine celebrity blogger, can make anyone shine in the court of public opinion. She is the Socialmedialite, anonymous creator of New York’s Finest and the internet’s darling. Virtual reality is Annie’s forte, but actual reality? Not so much. THE HOOKER Ronan Fitzpatrick, aka the best hooker the world of rugby has seen in decades, despises the media—social or otherwise. The press has spun a web of lies depicting him as rugby’s wild and reckless bad boy. Suspended from his team, Ronan has come to Manhattan to escape the drama, lay low, fly under the radar. Only, Ronan isn’t easy to overlook, and he can’t escape the notice of the Socialmedialite… THE PLAN When Ronan is sent to Davidson & Croft Media to reshape his public image, he never expects to cross paths with shy but beautiful Annie, nor does he expect his fierce attraction to her. He couldn’t be happier when her boss suggests pairing them together. What lengths will Annie take to keep her virtual identity concealed? And what happens when the hooker discovers who the hermit really is? The Hooker and the Hermit is a collaboration between authors L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid, is a full length 100k word novel, and is a standalone.
Maya and the Tough Guy
Cover: 5
Plot: 3
Characters: 4
Overall Rating: 3
Maya and the Tough Guy was a very emotional read for me. The heroine Maya was physically and mentally abused for most of her life starting from her father and then to her husband.
The book starts off with a flashback from the past and how Maya met her husband Damon, and after that is the present where Maya was going through her divorce with him. Jayce was another character I also loved because he was so loving and caring, and looks like a tough guy, but has a heart of gold.
Jayce and Maya had a historytogether and I loved how here in this book it was the guy who was in love with the heroine for a longer time. Jayce was really sweet and doing everything to help Maya get back to her feet by giving her a job, helping her with her kids and by agreeing to her to have a no-strings attached relationship.
One thing that really bothered me was when Maya's son Mattie told Jayce that he was also physically abused by his father. Jayce's reaction was very nice and he was trying to comfort Mattie, but the thing that bothered me was that after that chapter nothing about Mattie's abuse was mentioned anymore. Child Abuse is not something to be taken lightly and I just wished that although the book was centered around Maya and Jayce's relationship, the author could have at least given some focus on Mattie too.
Maya as said before has been mentally and physically abused ever since her childhood so she had reservations on enterimg a new relationship but doesn't have any if it's going to be a no-strings attached kind of thing. I know what Maya weent through was tough but sometimes the way she treats Jayce was really harsh. I believe that being a victim is a matter of choice you could choose to be one or choose to become a survivor.
That was what was lacking in Maya from the start of the book. She was scared and timid, lettinf people walk over her so she was a victim. But later on, she didn't take bullshit from anybody and learned to stand up for herself then she became a survivor.
The romance between Jayce and Maya was sizzling but at times it was getting too repititive. I don't think this book was meant to be Erotica but the amount of sex scenes would make you think otherwise. I guess if the sex scenes were lessened, the book could've been able to focus more on the important things like what I wrote in my spoiler. Overall Maya and The Tough Guy was a good read but not something really spectacular.
